Surrealism

Surrealism

Surrealism is an artistic movement born at the beginning of the twentieth century and still active. For the production of their works, surrealist painters draw images from their dreams trying to unveil the deeper aspects of their mind. The dream proposes above all images of which translation into words is often impossible; on the other hand, figurative production can easily be represented. The works of the Surrealists are striking for their deformations and unusual combinations: uniting objects and spaces that are apparently strangers creates unexpected sensations that cause questions and amazement, and in this René Magritte was a great master. We remember other masters of surrealism such as Salvador Dali, Max Ernest, Joan Mirò, Giorgio de Chirico and many others.
